Today, we at Ladies Connect Initiative are excited to join the world in marking the International Day of the Girl Child. This year’s theme, ” Girls Vision, For The Future”, serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to invest in the future of every girl, and we are proud to be doing just that through our special event today.
As part of our ongoing commitment to girls’ empowerment, our program today will focus on critical issues affecting girls’ lives.
We will be engaging with young girls from various communities in Osun state, providing them with knowledge and support in three key areas:
Raising Awareness on Gender-Based Violence: Violence against women and girls remains a grave issue globally, and it is vital that girls are equipped with the tools to recognize abuse, seek help, and assert their rights. Our sessions will provide practical guidance on how to stay safe, break the silence, and stand up against violence.
Menstrual Hygiene Management: Menstruation should never be a barrier to a girl’s education or personal growth. Yet, many girls still face stigma and lack of access to proper hygiene products
Career Empowerment as we believe that empowering girls to pursue fulfilling and successful careers is key to transforming their lives and shaping the future of our communities.
Through inspirational talks, mentorship sessions, and skill-building workshops, we aim to nurture their confidence and help them realize their full potential.
Our girls are our future, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure they have the support, knowledge, and tools to overcome challenges and fulfil their potentials.
