Our director had an amazing time discussing with the Nigerian Society of Engineer Spouses forum( Lagos Branch) on ‘Self Discovery, A Necessary Tool for Self Confidence’
This is a short highlight of her discussions.
Daily, a lot of people live with themselves without ever getting to know who they truly are.
Unfortunately, our world is strangely becoming busier and busier; we barely have time for ourselves.
The time tickles day by day, we wonder where all the yesteryears are, with overwhelming career, business, family, and loved ones to cater for.
It seems the whole world is on our shoulders…
Who am I? A question we all need to ask. I don’t believe anybody can truly know us better than ourselves.
Perhaps, if the question of who am I has been rightly answered, there would surely be no need for the endless envy, jealousy, strife that characterize the world today.
The question of who are you is reflective. Imagine for a second that you are robbed of your title, accolades, position in the family? Who will you be? How will you describe yourself?
What temperament do you have?
What do you enjoy doing?
What are your hobbies?
What are you naturally good at?
What are your skills?
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
How do you handle pain or loss?
How do you handle achievement or celebration?
What is your love language?
What is your strength?
How do you handle failure?
What style of leadership do you have?
How do you unwind?
Do you enjoy working for people or you enjoy people working for you?
How best are you good in finances?
What time of the day are you more active?
What painful events do you still hold on to?
Are you sincerely happy for others?
After answering the series of questions, the hurdle now is channeling the answers to strength where self-confidence lies.
There is a level of satisfaction and commitment that follows from such knowledge of oneself.
She discussed the concept of ‘Self Confidence’. Self-confidence is a daily effort.
The participants asked series of questions. Afterward, she was
awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.
